In Tamil it is called 'Karu Aanai Kizhangu' meaning 'Black Elephant Root Nodule' which over a period of time got deformed to 'karunai kizhangu'.  கருனை கிழன்கு [ யானை கால்  போலவே இருக்கும்

Cluster Bean

In Tamil it is called 'kuru avarai or kotthu avarai' for its growth in clusters.

Kuru got deformed to Goru in Telugu and therefore it is called 'goru chikkudu kai'

Chikkudu kaya belong to bean family, in order to differentiate this bean from other bean varieties the word 'goru' was prefixed.  But why 'goru' that was the question?  

Well,  you will not get the appropriate answer if you dwell in Telugu alone, you will get it correctly when you look at it from Tamil perspective.   In Tamil we have two words that stand for a ‘bunch or a cluster’ they are 'kooru or kothu'    and ‘chikkudukaya’ in Tamil is called as 'avaraikai'.  In order to differentiate different varieties of beans Tamils called it as 'kooru avaraikai' or 'kothu avaraikai' (in modern days Tamil it got deformed to 'kothavarnagai').   The same word 'kooru' was adopted in Telugu too as a prefix to  'chikkadukai' thus it became 'kooru chikkudu' and over a period of time it got deformed from kooru to goru chikkudukai.   Hope you will find it interesting to note.

Coming to answering ‘Raavi Chettu’ or ‘Ragi Chettu’ (Ficus Religiosa).   Ragi or Raavi (prakruti and vikruthi form of the word) means copper in Telugu, but what has copper got to do with this plant.  Well once again you will get the answer if you take Tamil perspective.  Let me explain:

In olden times Kings used to announce notices to villages under a big tree (it is called ‘thandoora’ in Tamil and ‘dindoora’ in Hindi).    This big tree started being called as kings tree.  In Tamil King is refered as ‘aarasan’ and tree is called ‘maram’ therefore  King’s tree was called ‘arasanmaram’ in Tamil.  The same word when translated in Telugu becomes ‘Raju Chettu’.  This word Raju Chettu over a period of time was deformed to  ‘Raavi Chettu’. 

Etymology of God

When the word of one language gets adopted into another language the common metamorphosis is

Ka becomes Ga.

Sa becoming Ja or Cha

Aa becoming Sa, etc.

that way Kada could have become God (the extenction Vul could have been truncated)

Let me study further and revisit this after sometime.

Ko means leader, big, great, God, etc in Tamil
il means house (the same word is adopted in Telugu as illu for house).
Thus Ko + il is Kovil Temple (house of God)

Eari  (or Aaru) in Tamil refers to a water body.

Ka + eari  ( Ka + Viri) is for the river Kaveri (correctly  spelledin English as Cauvery)
Ka refers to crow and Viri is to spread (crow has been the reason for the river to flow from the jug of muni Agastiya)

Kovil + eari = Koneri or Konneru

Arctic, Antarctic, Antlantic, Antlantis, Paataala

Antarctic - Anta + Rict + ic = End + Without + ness = Something without any end.

Antarctic - Ant + tar + it + ic = End + to move or manifest + "it' suffix for verb to past with participle with "i" rule + suffix for noun to adjective.

Antarctic = Ant + arc + t + ic = End + To shine + "t" suffix for verb to past participle + ic to convert noun to adjective.

Antarctica is at south pole, which qualifies for all the above definitions. It is a place where all time-zones and longitudinal lines meet! It is the southern end of earth till where one can sail, float or move. It is the last place where sun shines! Antarctica has six months of daylight and six months of darkness, which seems like never ending day or night! So magically all above meanings fit to my surprise! Call it wishful thinking and arbitrary rule selection! But I have seen a very famous Sanskrit Author doing the same game of guessing to understand how the world has come into existence!

Now if you want to go opposite side of Antarctica, you would remove the Ant prefix and call it Arctic, which is what the region of North Pole is called!

Antlantic = Ant + tal + ant + ic for adjective.

There are rules in Sanskrit, where constants can be doubled or duplicate constants dropped.

Ant-tal - meaning the end of tal, surface, place or water, or end-water-region

Ant-ic - adjective to indicate end-ness.

We get something that has "end of end-of-water/place/surface region" which very much describes an ocean that was a challenge to cross.

Antalantic = An + Atal + ant + ic

Atal - bottom less or rough or rocky

We get something that has "end of end of something which is bottom-less and/or rough", to describe the end of that region of rough sea that was rough to cross.

It also helps us speculate that crossing Pacific Ocean would have been easier to reach Americas, and for Indians, Chinese, Phoenicians, whose script has matched that of Indians, were most likely candidates to have reached Americas first. DNA study confirms Native Americans of Asiatic stock, and the Alaska being the route is now being questioned, in lieu of some new data arriving from carbon dating, fossils, and other sources. Antlantis = Ant + tal + ant + tis

Ant - End, Boundary, Edge, Limit.
Tis, Des, Desh, Place, Country

Atlantis = End + Level + End + Place = Last Place in End of Water.

If try to connect Atlantis with Atlantic, Atlantic being the name of a region, ocean or body of water, with an adjective to describe the end of a map, east or west, as it does not matter in a globe, from point of view of the Ancients, which would be in places like Greek, Phoenicia, India, etc, which I have shown to be culturally and linguistically.

So Atlantis sounds like the last place in Atlantic, and Atlantic sounds like a last body of levelled water or rough sea.

This exercise would tell the readers that the sound "a" is the most confusing sound but most important sound in the languages. There are 3 grades to each vowel, lesser, middle and upper, but sound "a" has only 2 grade, and it becomes very ambiguous to map these 2 version to lesser and middle, or middle and upper grades.

Interesting Tamil Etymology - Human Body.

Aasi Patri Ari -- Aasupatri --  Hospital


Kaal in Tamil means one forth or leg 
Arai in Tamil means half  or waist 
Mudi in Tamil stands for finish or hair. 

Kaal (leg)is one forth of our body (i.e.from below the knee to foot), 
Arai  (waist) is one half of out body (i.e. from below the waist to foot),
considering two different meanings for Kaal and Arai as explained above, the finishing point of human body could be called Muzhu (for full) or Mudi (finishing point). The chosen word is perhaps Mudi which is the finishing point of human body if you consider from bottom-up view.

Further 
Mutti (for knee) is called so, as it is the first part of the body when you crash (sit) on floor.  Muttu in Tamil is to hit, and Mutti is to get hit.

Thodai (for thigh )is called so 'cos it is the first extension from waist to leg.  In other words waist extends further below the body into leg via thodai.  Thodu in Tamil means to 'touch' and Thodar means continuation, Thus Thodai is the right word coined for thigh in Tamil.

Vairu (for stomach) is called so 'cos what we eat will go to stomach and stay there for some time, so it is rightlfully called Va + Iru = Vairu.  Va is to come and Iru is to stay.  Va + Iru is to come and stay.  Food that we eat comes and stays here.  How beautifully they have named it.

The inflection of verbs is also called conjugation, and one can refer to the inflection of nouns, adjectives and pronouns as declension.  We have very few languages in the world where majority of the words are have inflection and Tamil is one of such rare languages.
